  • packing of napkins;
  • stapler;
  • scissors;
  • round stencil;
  • thread and pencil.

Children's creativity craft - do-it-yourself balloon

Games are an integral part of the normal development of the child. It is not necessary to buy a ball or dolls, because children even consider spending time together with their parents as a game. They are just at the age when fantasies and dreams are an integral part of their lives. Try to do something with your child. In this article, you will learn how to make a papier mache balloon. The child will receive a sea of emotions and impressions from this process, and then he will be able to play independently with the finished craft.

For children's crafts you will need:

- Balloon;
- hand cream;
- a box of tea bags;
- colored paper;
- scissors;
- PVA glue;
- newspapers;
- a brush for glue;
- a container with water;
- gouache paints;
- brush for paints;
- wire or thread.

The stages of work on the balloon craft:

1. We take a newspaper or any paper, but not thick. We tear it into pieces, which we then moisten in a container with water.
2. We take a balloon of any color. We inflate it and grease it with hand cream.

3. Put our moistened pieces of newspaper on a layer of cream. We do this without glue and over the entire surface of the ball so that there are no gaps. We leave not glued only a small area at the tail of the ball.
4. Now we coat the entire ball with glue and lay out the next layer of paper. So repeat this process 3 or 4 times.
5. Let the ball dry, preferably near a heat source. This will take approximately two hours.
6. While the drying process is in progress, let's make a balloon basket. To do this, take a tea box, cut off its lid and glue it over the entire surface with colored paper. If desired, the inside of the box can also be sealed or painted over with paints.

7. When our ball is completely dry (all layers of paper must be dense), we prime it with a mixture of gouache and glue. Let the child choose for himself what color the ball will be.
8. After that, carefully pierce the ball. From the inside, he himself will come off the newspapers.
9. The balloon can be decorated like a real balloon - with colored stripes or left in one color.
10. Now attach the basket to the ball.

Such a creative craft can be hung from a chandelier or on a cornice in a nursery, and if it is warm and trees grow in the yard, then you can make a whole parade of balloons of various colors and sizes. Believe me, even the neighbors will not remain indifferent.

I like to buy paper lanterns instead of pretentious chandeliers. Why? First, they are inexpensive. Secondly, when they become dusty or tear, they can be changed. Thirdly, they are easy to transform, if there were paints, napkins and free time. I have long wanted to make a balloon, but then I found a suitable basket and the idea immediately matured.

For a balloon-plafond, we need the simplest things:
paper lantern,
4 napkins with sunflowers,
broken basket without a handle,
flower stickers,
scissors,
tassels,
paints,
PVA glue,
5-6 meters of cord,
balloon passengers and fantasy.

When I came across napkins with sunflowers in the store, I thought that they are very reminiscent of flames that escape from the burner and inflate the balloon. The flashlight lay for a long time, it remains to bring together all the elements. Cut out pieces of flowers of the desired size.

Now you need to remove three white paper layers from the napkin so that only the colored one remains.

We carefully put it on the bottom of the lamp and coat it with PVA glue. I dilute the adhesive 1:1 with water to make it easier to apply. You can use undiluted, but then there is a big risk of tearing the napkin when smearing it over the surface. A brush for this process must be taken with soft bristles.

From pieces of a napkin we gradually form our flame below.

We do this until we fill the circle completely. We try to distribute napkins so that there are no ugly gaps.

From above, I decided to duplicate the same pattern for symmetry. Let it be the sun.

To make the sunflower fire look brighter and more complete, I added flames with red and yellow gouache.

Now we tie a cord to the basket, distributing its segments at equal distances inside the circle. Try to keep all knots inside the basket. Each hanger takes about a meter of cord. You can additionally duplicate the cord around the lamp. It is very important to center the basket, this is one of the most difficult moments of work. Check it, it should hang exactly under the balloon. To facilitate this process, you can look through the hole at the bottom. Through it you can clearly see where the center of the basket is. A real basket of rods is quite expensive, you can weave it from newspapers. Workshops on newspaper weaving can be easily found on the net.

In the final, I decided to decorate the center of the paper ceiling with yellow-green gouache stripes and stickers in the form of flowers. Try to find stickers on thin paper so that they do not peel off from the tissue paper that is pasted over the ceiling. Luminous stickers with phosphor coating look very nice on such lamps. It turned out to be a real waltz of flowers.

How to make a real papier-mâché balloon with your own hands so that it can then fly? What is required for such a craft, how complicated is the process? In reality, most products of this kind do not require a long time and special knowledge.

Thanks to a detailed master class, any beginner can handle it. But the finished craft will amaze everyone around. You can make bright multi-colored balls, provide them with baskets or color them to make laughing faces. Whatever, you are only limited by your imagination.

To make a papier-mâché balloon on a balloon, you will need the following materials:

  • a stack of unwanted newspapers;
  • liquid paste;
  • ordinary rubber ball;
  • a few brushes.

Detailed instructions:

  1. Prepare a paste by diluting it in some unnecessary container of a decent size.
  2. Tear newspaper sheets into strips 2.5 cm wide each.
  3. Inflate the balloon, making sure that it does not exceed the dimensions of the finished craft.
  4. Carefully glue the finished ball with paper strips pre-moistened in the paste.
  5. Important: after wetting the paper, immediately remove any excess liquid by running your fingers. This should be done in advance, before gluing.
  6. When gluing the strips, carefully straighten the folds with your fingertips. It is more convenient to do this with a brush. Act in stages, then the toy ball will turn out beautiful and smooth.
  7. When finished, leave the product to dry. Now carefully pierce the ball inside the newspaper strips and take it out through the small remaining hole at the bottom (this must be left in advance, even before pasting the newspaper).

If you need a white ball, just paint the dried blank with the paint of the desired color.

Globe or moon made of papier-mâché

How to make a ball - a planet from papier-mâché? I want to create something special. For example, the planet Earth or the Moon. Here the basic principle of making a ball will remain unchanged.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Make a newspaper ball, trying to make it as smooth as possible (no wrinkles) and medium in size. Inflate a regular rubber balloon, then gradually glue strips of newspaper soaked in glue over it. Wait until the product is dry, then blow off the balloon. The preparatory part is over.
  2. Now, for this example, you will need a real globe. It is more convenient than flat pictures. To make the globe look as realistic as possible, it is necessary to redraw the outlines of the continents, individual islands and oceans of the Earth onto a finished paper ball. To do this, arm yourself with acrylic paints.
  3. Is it convenient to color the newspaper or is it worth additionally pasting the balloon on top with white paper? You can first paint with white paint and then apply the outlines of the Earth to it. Or paste over with A4 paper, cutting it also into strips. The technology seems more complicated, but in practice everyone copes, even beginners.

In this way, you can create any planet from the solar system and then hang them together, creating a composition. It is important to keep the dimensions, remembering that Jupiter is large, Mars is small, and the Earth is medium.

Balloon with a basket - master class

Here you can choose the manufacturing technique.

Option number 1. A beautiful ball. If you want to create a craft quickly, then look at a beautiful colored small ball. Preferably round in shape. Weave to it from a dense thread or take a ready-made mesh. See that the ball fits comfortably inside, and the edges of the net remain free. Trim carefully if necessary.

Create a shopping cart. You can cut it out of an ordinary plastic cup and glue it on the outside. Or glued from a sheet of cardboard. If you have a ready basket, even better. Tie it using the free ends of the thread to the ball. Ready.

Option number 2. A voluminous balloon with a fabric basket. A great New Year's surprise that a child can make if prompted.

Would need:

  • unnecessary newspapers;
  • ordinary rubber ball;
  • diluted paste;
  • brush;
  • pieces of multi-colored fabric (preferably one type);
  • cardboard;
  • skein of rope or braid.

Step by step instructions:

Such a papier-mache balloon will turn out beautiful, large and can then be hung from the ceiling.

  1. Making a paper (newspaper) ball. Inflate the balloon following the instructions described above, then glue it successively with thin newspaper strips, dipping them in a paste. Do not seal the space below, around the tail. Leave a hole.
  2. While the blank dries, you can make a basket. To do this, take the cardboard and glue the basket of small sizes step by step, guided by the ball.
  3. Carefully poke 4 small, even holes in the top of the finished basket. See that they are symmetrical.
  4. Decoupage ball. It is dry, now deflate and remove the rubber base (inflated balloon). Tape it with strips of fabric / colored paper (which is preferable). From above, carefully make 2 holes, placing them close. The papier-mâché ball is ready.
  5. Measure out 2 pieces of rope. Take one, thread the tip through one of those holes at the top of the ball, then pull it out through the other. Center so that two identical ends hang down. Tie them, fastening in two opposite holes located in the basket. Do the same with the second remaining rope. Tie the ends alternately to two of the four holes (see picture).
  6. At the top of the children's toy, you can make an additional loop through which it can then be hung from the ceiling.

A small doll or a man with Lego, ready to fly, will complete the work.

Balloon - smeshariki from papier mache

It's easy to do. To create a cute smeshariki you will need:

  • dye;
  • several brushes;
  • a sheet of cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • finished picture.

The first step is to make an ordinary paper ball, pasted over with newspaper strips. Then, as it dries, decorate the product by painting it like a Smeshariki. Draw a smiling face in front, and attach the missing parts like ears, arms and legs separately.

Cut them out of a sheet of cardboard or “blind” using a napkin soaked in glue. Some take plasticine. The paper ball is quite dense, so you can attach a variety of parts without fear of its destruction.

To make the interior of the house stylish and original, it is not necessary to decorate it with purchased gizmos. Jewelry can be made with your own hands - this will not only give a pleasant and interesting pastime, but also help create a festive atmosphere in the house with the right mood. At the same time, the color scheme of the holiday is thought out and exactly the decor that suits this significant day is created. In addition, purchased jewelry is monotonous, while handmade jewelry is one of a kind.

One of the simplest solutions is paper balls. The technique for making these crafts is simple, it will not take so much time, the material costs are small. And paper balls look grandiose - they fill the whole space with themselves, amaze the imagination - it seems that it is impossible to do this manually, the balls look so unhandicrafted.

From the history of the appearance of paper balls

China is considered the birthplace of paper balls. Flying paper lanterns have been made there for a long time, they are very popular even now - they are launched into the air by placing oil lamps inside. Flying into the night sky and disappearing among the stars somewhere in the clouds illuminated by the moon, luminous lanterns are a bewitching sight. Paper Chinese lanterns prompted, in the future, the idea of making paper balls. They began to decorate festive events in America and Europe.

Today, it is a trend all over the world to create interiors with decor from paper garlands, flowers and balls for the duration of the celebrations. Products made of multi-colored and shiny paper look elegant, fragile and weightless. Decorating a room is easy, because paper balls weigh almost nothing. In addition, paper is an environmentally friendly material that does not litter the environment, it is recyclable, that is, the use of paper decorations helps to save nature. In general, paper balls are one of the trends of modern fashion in the design of festive and solemn interiors.

Types of paper balls

Paper balls are used in decorating rooms; they can be selected thematically according to the method of manufacture and colors. For example, multi-colored balloons are suitable for a children's birthday, and a wedding hall can be decorated with balloons in pastel colors. It is considered stylish to hang balloons of the same color but different sizes indoors. Small paper balls can decorate the Christmas tree. The technique of making paper balls is different, and they all look interesting in different ways.

Balls are made from:

  • long strips of paper;
  • paper circles;
  • geometric shapes made of paper;
  • from twisted and folded paper;
  • from paper pyramids sewn together at the ends (in Japanese - "kusudama").

You can also make a paper accordion ball and origami ball. But first, it’s worth mastering the two simplest techniques on small balls - a ball of paper circles and a ball of paper stripes.

Preparation for work

In order for the work to immediately begin to argue, you first need to stock up on everything you need for needlework. You will need the following materials and tools:

  • a pack of colored paper;
  • double-sided tape or glue stick;
  • satin ribbon;
  • a sheet of thick cardboard;
  • spool of sewing thread;
  • scissors;
  • sewing needle;
  • stapler;
  • a compass (you can replace it with a cup or saucer and simply draw circles around them);
  • for decoration - shiny sequins.

When choosing materials, you need to pay attention to some things. When buying colored paper, you should look at the density of the sheets - they should be of medium density. If the paper is too thin, then the ball may wrinkle or tear at the folds. Too dense sheets are difficult to accurately bend along the lines.

Ordinary colored paper can be replaced with corrugated paper - the ball will seem openwork and even more airy. Interesting crafts are obtained from colored paper “silence” - such paper is used to make cigarettes, it is very thin and transparent, for each element of the ball it will be necessary to take it in several layers. But the balls of silence look very gentle.

Thick cardboard is needed to make a circle template (stencil). Having decided on the size of the balls, on cardboard with a compass or saucer, you need to draw a circle of the desired diameter and cut it out. According to this blank - circle circles on colored paper.

A satin ribbon in the manufacture of balls is not a trifle at all, but an important accessory that gives the craft a complete look. For small balls, you will need a narrow ribbon. The color of the ribbon should be in harmony with the color scheme of the balloon.

Step-by-step instructions for making a ball from paper circles

  1. Take a few sheets of colored paper. It is important that they were colored on both sides, then the ball will look beautiful from all angles.
  2. On paper, according to a pre-prepared stencil of the desired diameter, circle circles. Carefully cut out circles.
  3. Circles should be 48 pieces - 12 circles of four different colors.
  4. Bend each circle in half in diameter and fold them in a pile on top of each other.
  5. With a needle and thread, sew the ball blank along the junction line with a dense stitch (you can simply fasten the circles with a stapler).
  6. The final stage, the most painstaking: all adjacent semicircles must be carefully glued together with an adhesive pencil (easier and faster - with pieces of double-sided tape). That is, to make it clear, if only two circles bent in half were glued together, then they would have to be glued to each other only in halves so that, when you straighten them, you get a base from a circle with a vertical partition in the middle from a semicircle. And when gluing a ball of 48 circles, all circles must be glued with both halves of the neighboring halves. When the last two circles remain, the workpiece will become like a fan on a round base. When gluing the halves of these last two circles, the craft will automatically straighten into a ball.
  7. At the satin ribbon of the desired length (there will be a loop from it - you can make any length, depending on where the craft will be hung), cut the edges with a sharp hot knife so that they do not bloom. The knife can be heated over the gas burner of the kitchen stove, in the fire of a candle or a lighter.

Now it remains to straighten the workpiece - so that the "petals" are spaced from each other at an equal distance. Make a hole in one of the “petals”, thread a ribbon into it and tie it with a bow or a neat knot. The paper ball is ready.

Step-by-step instructions for making a ball of paper strips

  1. Take several sheets of colored paper and cut them into strips 1.0-1.5 cm wide (if the ball is small, like a Christmas toy) along the length of the sheet.
  2. You can use paper of the same color, or you can take different colors - then the ball will turn out bright, cheerful and elegant.
  3. Take one strip and connect its ends so that you get a ring. At the junction of the ends, you need to make an allowance and fasten them with a stapler or glue them with an adhesive pencil (you can use a piece of double-sided tape). It's easier to work with double-sided tape, but the glue stick is cheaper. It’s even easier to use a stapler, but in a small craft, the paper clips will be very noticeable and the balloon will look sloppy.
  4. Take the second strip of paper, turn it into a ring in the same way as in the previous paragraph, and pass it at a right angle into the first ring. Fasten both rings together with glue, tape or a stapler.
  5. Adding ring after ring in the same way, form a ball.
  6. Glue sequins on paper strips so that the ball swinging on the ribbon shimmers. As an option, you can paste over the ball with applications, for example, if it is a children's holiday, and the ball is large, with figures of cartoon characters.
  7. Pass a ribbon through one of the strips so that the balloon can be hung.

Having mastered these two simple manufacturing techniques on small paper balls, you can proceed to real creative work - how to make a ball large sizes, try more complex techniques and decorate the interior of the house.

In addition to the fact that making paper balls with your own hands is an aesthetic pleasure, it also has practical benefits. Having taught your child to make balloons, you can leave him alone for this lesson for two hours and do housework. In addition, the lesson develops fine motor skills of hands and children's imagination. And if you make balloons together with the children, preparing for the holiday, then they will also feel their importance - after all, along with adults, they took part in the preparation of the general fun.
