The guitar for the young musician is ready!

I got excited about the idea of learning to play the guitar, this does not mean that you need to immediately run to the store for an instrument. To get started, make a guitar out of cardboard with your own hands. It is quite possible that this will be enough for children to bring down the teeth.

We offer three ways to make a cardboard guitar with your own hands.

Guitar made of cardboard No. 1

In order to make a toy guitar out of cardboard according to the first method, you will need:

  • cardboard (you can use unnecessary cardboard boxes)
  • scissors and paper cutter
  • glue gun
  • two unnecessary pencils to make guitar nuts (4 and 7 cm)
  • two paperclips
  • string material, e.g. fishing line

Print or draw a template for a toy guitar on paper. Cut it out.

Cut out the pieces for the guitar from cardboard. There should be five elements in total.

We glue two large parts with a glue gun.

We make sills for the guitar from pencils. To do this, cut off two parts from the pencil: 4 and 7 cm.

We mark on the deck a place for the nut and strings on the front side of the guitar, stepping back from the lower edge of the circle, draw a 7 cm line in the center of 2.5 cm. Then we mark the places where the strings exit with dots:

  • retreat from the line 0.5 cm down
  • then retreat from the edges 1.5 cm
  • put dots with an interval of 1 cm

We fasten the nut to our cardboard guitar. To begin with, with a paper knife, we draw along a 7-centimeter line under the circle.

Then press the incision slightly inward with your fingers.

And with the help of a glue gun, we glue a 7-centimeter threshold, which we made from a pencil, to the resulting crease.

We glue the nut to the fretboard in the same way. The only difference is that you need to make 4 notches on it for future strings.

We fasten the strings to the cardboard guitar. We take the material that we have prepared for the strings: fishing line or elastic. We cut 4 strings along the length of the guitar, plus 7-8 cm for fastenings.

We tie one end of the strings to a paper clip.

We fasten the paper clip on the fretboard, to the back of the guitar. We pass the strings through the holes and bring them to the front.

We thread the free ends of the strings into the corresponding holes on the guitar deck and bring them to the back, where we fasten them to a paper clip. Then we fix the clip itself with glue.

Glue the remaining parts to the back of the guitar. Trim the uneven edges with a paper cutter.

That's all, the cardboard guitar is ready.

Cardboard guitar: master class No. 2

This cardboard guitar is not as naturalistic as the first one: its strings will be drawn. But there is one indisputable plus - making it much faster and easier than in the first master class. And you can also make yourself not an ordinary acoustic, but an electric guitar, like real rock stars.

So, what you need to make a toy cardboard guitar:

  • cardboard
  • paper knife
  • paints or markers

We cut out the deck and neck from cardboard according to the template. Glue them together and let dry.

After the glue on the guitar has dried, we draw the strings, nut, pegs. And also decorate the deck, as soon as the soul wishes.

Guitar from a cardboard box

Even a child can handle this master class on how to make a guitar out of a cardboard box.

In order to make a guitar out of cardboard boxes, you will need:

  • cardboard box
  • paper towel sleeve or piece of cardboard for the neck
  • material for strings (dense fishing line or elastic band)
  • glue or tape
  • sill pencil

In fact, what is at hand is useful. Take a cardboard box (cereal is fine), cut out a circle in the middle. Glue a neck cut out of cardboard or a paper towel sleeve.

Attach the nut and strings to the box. And the guitar is ready.

We hope you enjoyed the workshops on how to make a guitar out of cardboard or a cardboard box with your own hands. And the children will be delighted with such crafts.

My daughter is a big fan of Hana Montana, so the guitar is her dream. Buying a "real" small guitar proved to be an impossible task, so they decided to make their own guitar out of cardboard.

To create such an unusual musical instrument, you will need:

cardboard, A4 paper - two sheets; PVA glue; glue gun; elastic; the knife is sharp; scissors; ruler; two paperclips; an awl or a large needle; a simple pencil for drawings and two for a guitar, or two straight sticks small in length and thickness.

On A4 paper, draw the outline of the guitar. I offer you a ready-made drawing for this paper format. By saving and enlarging it, as well as printing and cutting, you will get a finished product stencil.

I printed the bottom on one sheet, the top of the drawing on the other, fastened them. She circled the stencil on cardboard. I had to repeat the process several times.

You need to make four to five parts. Two or one of them without the top. This is the "rear" wall of our tool.

Make a hole in the middle of the three "full" parts.

Glue two pieces of each type. One detail with a hole remains intact.

From a pencil or sticks, we will prepare bridges for our strings.

To do this, cut out 9 cm and 4.5 cm segments from a pencil. On them, make four notches at an equal distance, for future strings. I did through 1 cm between each notch.

The photo shows pencil pieces for bridges and paper clips for stretching strings.

On the part fastened from two parts, make indentations for pencil pieces.

Glue, already prepared, sticks or notched pencils. I made three (an extra in the middle of the instrument) for better stringing.

Glue the free “full” part to the “rear” already double wall of the guitar.

Now you need to thread the strings themselves into the "front" part. To do this, draw a line at a distance of 1-1.5 cm from the bridge and make marks opposite the notches.

Poke holes with a large needle or awl.

When threading the elastic, fasten it on the back side to the paper clips. Pull the elastic band well, then the sounds from it are sonorous, like a real guitar.

Glue the paper clips themselves (do not forget to slightly pull away from the holes) with a glue gun.

Connect the "front" and "back" parts and secure with glue.

The musical instrument for the future mega star is ready! I propose to decorate the instrument with the future owner or owner of the guitar, according to his or her taste and desire.

How to make a guitar out of cardboard. You can also make a life-size guitar out of cardboard. Of course, a cardboard guitar is just a dummy, an interesting craft (or a fake), but it has strings and children will be happy to “strum” on it.
To make a guitar out of cardboard, we will need:

1. Pieces of cardboard 50x100 centimeters - 5 pieces (you can use packaging from household appliances, a refrigerator or a TV).
2. Hot glue can be PVA.
3. Carpet knife, pencil.
4. 3 paper clips.
5. Drill.
6. Three large elastic bands (for making strings).
7. Brushes, paints.

Be sure to check out the rest.

We draw a template of our guitar on a piece of cardboard and cut it out. Here you can show your imagination, it is not necessary to make a classical-looking guitar. Using the resulting template, we transfer the contour to three more sheets and also cut it out. Be sure to make the hole for the sound, it looks like it's bigger and the sound will be louder. The fifth template is cut out without a hole for sound, this is the back wall. Glue the templates together.

We also need to cut and glue two rectangular pieces of cardboard on the front side of our guitar. One behind the sound hole at a distance of five centimeters will be the bridge, the second on the deck where the real guitar has pegs. These cartons will lift the strings.
We paint the guitar, decorate it. You can cut out, for example, a primitive repeating stencil of some colors and apply it with different colors.
We drill near the cardboard imitating the bridge and the deck four pieces, through and through.

We stretch our rubber bands imitating strings into the holes and tie them to a paper clip on the back side, so on both sides. We select the size so that there is a slight tension. That's all the cardboard guitar is waiting for its soloist.
